Thirty Four Years of consecutive In-Your-Face Lunkers during Happy Bait. Captain Jeff takes full advantage of the first day of serious Pod action. That North East Wind we have been waiting for arrived Thursday night, and the texts and tweets starting coming in at around 4 in the morning. Everybody was reporting serious pod from Fort Pierce all the way down to Biscayne Bay. We got a late lunch and hit the afternoon session down at the confluence at Port Everglades. The conditions were epic. The Surfers were catching waves and there was bait everywhere. Mile long veins of big mullet as far out as 150 feet of water near the shipping lanes. Bait was being pushed up into the surf all along Fort Lauderdale beach from the inlet all the way to the pier. And reports like this were coming in from all up the coast. Happy Bait has turned into full blown mullet run. Congratulations man. Get your five gallon bucket. Dust off your old Salty Dog castnet, and grab your Econo Combo 20lb Spinner and get out there and get you one! Run That Dog.
